Performing Arts of Woodstock Celebrating our 60th Season
Director’s Showcase
Performing Arts of Woodstock is closing out the season with three delightful one-act plays by Thornton Wilder. In addition, it’s a director’s showcase, with three of our own board members directing each play!
Babies being grownups, grownups being babies. Two babies, a lovelorn nursemaid, a harried mom and a very by the book police officer spend a pleasant afternoon in Central Park trying to understand each other and the world at large.

SUCH THINGS HAPPEN ONLY IN BOOKS
Directed by Richard Ralff
A married couple, Gabrielle and John, live in a small town. Except for John’s writer’s block, life seems straightforward; but then complexities appear. An injured maid, talk of a mystery and a treasure, a visit from a stranger… Who would have thought that things could get so complicated in such a small town?

QUEENS OF FRANCE
Directed by Lena Adams
“Queens of France” is a sly little play about people’s gullibility, and the certainty that there will always be someone just waiting to exploit that gullibility. In post-Civil War New Orleans, a canny lawyer has duped three women with his story of lost royal heirs and the need to acquire the (expensive) proofs of their rank. How does he do it? We shall see.
